Council tax only frozen for a year, who will pay next year??? Options

So Alan Law says the Conservertive administration should be congratulated for being able to "freeze" council tax for the coming year. Isn't it true that this has nothing to do with the local council, who have actually raised council tax by 2.5%??? It's only a grant from the Government that is freezing council tax for a year, but who will pay the extra 2.5% per tax payer next year?

That means that we face a council tax rise of at least 2.5% next year, so realistically it could be 3, 4 or even 5%??? Hardly the picture perfect image you present via the NWN then Cllr law!!!

Under Labour he has a legitimate party to attach to, but with the big two, he would have to toe party lines somewhat.

As he will under the Labour badge, once they develop local (and national) strategies. While the local party is allowed to pretty much do its' own thing at the moment, rest assured that will no longer be so if there is any success to their campaigning.

He should stand as an Independant.

Trading standars. The Tories say something but actually do the opposite. The Lib Dems nationally make promises, then break them for a referendum on AV. Interesting that the right to recall initiative is now a different thing to what it was going to be in the Lib Dem manifesto!!!

Quite. He comes to power with revolutionary zeal after overthrowing the hated Gordon Brown, but now his supporters have abandoned him he wants to tamper withe the voting system so he can cling to power.

What do they do about this sort of thing in other countries?
