So how come it's perfectly acceptable to the good folk of Chieveley that you can organise a massive bonfire where tonnes of uncontrolled rubbish is burnt off for pleasure, but on the other hand they strenuously oppose having an incinerator?

Say NO to the Chieveley Bonfire Night!!!

An interesting question would be to what extent bonfire night adds to the carbon generation prolem.
