Anyone know what is happening to the building where Comet used to be on the A4 (opposite the BP garage) in Newbury?

Have heard rumours of a Tesco or Sainsbury's store moving in there - anyone know if that's true?

Does Newbury really need another supermarket?

As far as I am aware Tesco are still the main contender.
I am afraid , like 'em or loathe 'em , supermarkets are here to stay , and as it will be reasonably handy for me I'm afraid they will have my patronage .

Comet are one company that I can't believe are still in business, good riddance if they're gone.

I disagree. I got most of my stuff of them. I found them very good. I will miss them.

Really? I've never known anyone to like it, certainly not praise it. I am guessing if i was doing that well it would still be there so the other bunch of "C"'s must be doing a better job. Or could be better located. I wonder how Tesco will do with the appliance side of things.
