I read an article today that says that the Bee poulation is radically reducing due to desease, loss of habitat, and loss of food supply.
The utimate outcome of this could be the end of life on earth in 5 years as we know it. That means us!!!!
The article encourages us to make homes for Bee colonies in our gardens and on our balconies, rooftops and grow plants that they feed on.
This all sounds great and I would love to help out with this however the cost of buying a hive and a colony of Bees is about £500.
Surely if there is a serious risk of life extinction shouldn't the worlds governments make it cheaper for us to help with this project.
Does anyone know if this can be done cheaper as I would like to have a go as I believe that it is more important than Gobal warming.
Maybe they are disappearing because of Global warming?
I read something about it as well, and it is worrying. Doing something, no matter how little, is a start.
Just a matter of interest; I watched an episode of Dr Who where the bees also started disappearing. It caused - not directly I might add - all the planets to congregate together. Behind this phenomena was the Daleks. But the bees were the first sign to this catastrophe. Now I know what you are thinking; the Doctor came to the rescue and the worlds were saved. Yes! But we might not be so lucky next time.
So what has this little tale taught us children? By watching Dr Who we just might be able to save the planet. Either that or get a life!
