QUOTE (x2lls @ Apr 3 2018, 08:19 PM) How telling is that when I post the stuff I do, the facts with evidence, get completely ignored by those that I would expect to leap on and defend an opposing view. Facts and evidence in itself proves little. Someone being unable to counter an argument doesn’t qualify anyone to be a victor, IF the objective is to discover the truth. Most things I have seen posted as evidence or facts by people on here are the results of people seeking confirmation bias and little to do with enlightenment. Some people think “the only way to get rid of a mole is to blow its bluddy head off”, others think differently.

QUOTE (newres @ Apr 3 2018, 06:48 PM) Well plus he can't read what's written and spouts nonsense. It's fine having a different view, but calling someone a paedo for it is a little extreme and suggest intoxication. No? Me thinks the Walter doth protest too much! Hit a nerve there.

QUOTE (newres @ Apr 3 2018, 06:48 PM) I reckon you're a boozer. Explains a lot. For one, I don't drink, ever. And two, what explains you? apart from ignorance and stupidity.

Some people think “the only way to get rid of a mole is to blow its bluddy head off”, others think differently. If "Facts and evidence in itself proves little.", what does? And how is saying someone is abusive?

QUOTE (je suis Charlie @ Aug 24 2018, 07:15 PM) https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2...sts-2013-speechIf you vote for this man NOW, you're either. A, Antisemitic. B, Racist. C. Just don't care. Rhetorical question surely? Very few of us will have the opportunity to vote for Jeremy Corbyn, we still don't have a presidential system. And anyway, why should I care? No one else seems to, my 'vote' will do nothing.

Indeed. If some of the more liberal conservatives came together with sone of the more right wing labour party members you could have a party that gains traction very quickly. It didn't take Macron long to go from relative obscurity to President of France. All that is needed is a charismatic leader with a positive message. Not sure who that could be though.

Ask any "sensible" person if they would like the job of running the country and they look at you as if your are certifiable. The problem is we have a political system that has more wrong than right but compared with the rest of the planet ours is as good as it gets. You cite France but we all know that is a balancing act awaiting the next wobble, so just sit back and let history take it's course.
