Rent prices going up in the Kennet centre. Options

I was talking to a manager of one of the stores in the Kennet Centre and he told me that their rent is going up forcing some companies to leave. Sky, which was sold in the main walkway, had to leave because of the rises. Others are also leaving.

Should rent prices rise in a recession, stay the same or go down? Is the Kennet Centre right to put up their rent at this moment in time?

The rent is going up and there is unsettlement with the owners of the companies there because they feel they are being squeezed at a time of austerity. She told me that one or two stores are thinking of finding cheaper accommodations or even moving out of the area. With the price of parking and not a lot of money circulating it is not very economical staying in the Kennet Centre. Most shops, if possible, would rather go to some place like the Retail Park. My boyfriends sister has been looking for another job, but that is not that easy under the current situation.

On another note; I said it was easy to clarify; if it was true then it wouldn't be long before somebody came along to clarify it, as Heather has done. On the subject of Heather. Why didn't you ask her for proof? Even though she confirmed what I said you should have still asked her to give proof of her statement.

In the greater scheme of things it is something about nothing. Your pursuit of this tells me more about you; your boredom level and the amount of time you've got on your hands to pursue such ridiculous things. Are you unemployed? You should try getting a job; that will keep you occupied during the day and at night time you can turn into a bat.
