I can’t help but think the hype over the Salisbury attack and some of the talk of Government is seriously out of proportion to the importance of the event to this country and I can’t help but think it’s oartly being driven to get Brexit off the front page.

It’s at worst a political assassination. We’ve seen it before and doubtless we’ll see it again.

I see the Foreign Office have deleted a tweet blaming Russia. This has the whiff of foul play to me by the government in that they appear to have exaggerated the evidence against Russia. Coincidentally this all blew up at the time of the Brexit agreement and totally taking it off the front page. Heads should roll. The first one should be the buffoon Boris Johnson.

I'm of the opinion that the security forces know who dunnit and have shown the evidence to our EU partners. It may well be an on going security operation that prevents the full evidence being given to Jo Public. That may well explain the Boris outrage. Hes not known for keeping secrets well without a level of venting....

True, but it doesn’t mean that the government sanctioned the attack. And let’s be honest it was clearly botched. The point is that the government portrayed to us that the Russians were behind it when they had nothing but circumstantial evidence. We’ve now got the Foreign Office deleting tweets. JC was correct in his response. Again.
