I see from their web-site that Greenham PC have cancelled all further meetings of their troubled Control Tower Committee. I see too that there are a further two vacancies arisen on the council as more councillors throw in the towel - that's now six resignations since the summer. It's all rather chaotic, and the politicisation of the council by the Lib Dems is hardly a welcome development.

Given the audit report, I'm not at all surprised at the number of resignations from the Council. On the basis of that report, I'd also be seriously concerned if the Loan Board granted the Council's request for funding. In Project Management terms at least, the project is not viable as it is. The whole affair is a dreadful indictment on the state of local government in Newbury. The sophisticated game being played in particular by the LibDems is now beginning to hurt us all.

If a professionally staffed Unitary Authority was unable to find the funds or expertise to do the job properly who in their right mind would have imagined a sub committee of an unstaffed parish council would have any more chance of success?
