Does anybody know why, when choosing to knock a whole in Northbrook street, they selected some of the oldest and most historic shop fronts? About 3 door down are some classic 70's buildings that they could have demolised instead.

Its a crime that classic buildings that have lasted 100+ years have to make way for a development that will probably last only 50.

The shops that have gone would have fallen down by themselves. They were not maintained - the old sports shop was flooded several times because of the bad roof if you remember.
The new development is going to be a clone of the KC - the 'anchor' store is Debenhams which will move from the KC to take 'pride of place' at Parkway.

So what high quality retailer do we think Kennet Shopping will replace Debenhams with?
