Does anybody know why, when choosing to knock a whole in Northbrook street, they selected some of the oldest and most historic shop fronts? About 3 door down are some classic 70's buildings that they could have demolised instead.
Its a crime that classic buildings that have lasted 100+ years have to make way for a development that will probably last only 50. |

The shops that have gone would have fallen down by themselves. They were not maintained - the old sports shop was flooded several times because of the bad roof if you remember.
The new development is going to be a clone of the KC - the 'anchor' store is Debenhams which will move from the KC to take 'pride of place' at Parkway. |
