QUOTE (gel @ Mar 23 2017, 03:14 PM) We saw some very Christian acts on Westminster Bridge yesterday with both the terrorist & his non believer victims receiving the same care. We all know what a Christian act means, but the Muslim equivalent only has negative connotations for me. Worth bearing in mind how Christ taught the parable of a Samaritan helping an injured Jew at a time when relations between those two Abrahamic traditions were just as poisonous as the present relations between Christians and Muslims, and the point He was making was that it is our common humanity that unites us.

QUOTE (Andy Capp @ Mar 23 2017, 08:25 PM) Every one is a risk from terrorism, whether religious or not, but the risk is minuscule compared to others we face day to day. 🙄 When something like this happens, there is always a backlash and victims of those offences deserve support as much as anyone else. Very true.

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Mar 23 2017, 10:26 PM) Perhaps the security forces may have more teeth when we are our of the EU. Lets hope so. They know who the majority of people are that are likely to commit these incidents. Would I be bothered about there "human rights" if they rounded them up? Personally. No. That will upset a lot of shouty liberals. But I reckon the majority of the population would breathe a sigh of relief. I believe it is about what is practical, and this isn't a practical idea.

QUOTE (je suis Charlie @ Mar 24 2017, 05:48 AM) Its not practical to sit around like sheep waiting for these beasts in human form to come and cut our throats either. People aren't sitting around waiting, that's why far more people in the U.K. are killed by diesel engine pollution than a terrorist attack. Thankfully many people recognise this and act accordingly, rather than respond to right-wing hysteria.

QUOTE (Andy1 @ Mar 23 2017, 10:37 PM) The guy drove a car on the pavement with the intention to kill. I doubt he was concerned what religion his victims were. His assumed intention was to spread fear and terror in the name of his own particular warped brand of religion... (said quietly... we don't want to make assumptions here about this being to do with the Religion of Peace) If he wiped out fellow Muslims while committing his act they would understand... 'InShaAllah' n all that...

Thankfully many people recognise this and act accordingly, rather than respond to right-wing hysteria. More people are killed by eating red meat than by terrorist attacks, and it's not right wing hysteria that gets us killed it's liberal complacency that does that. And if you're really all that worried about diesel? Don't use the bus, or a train, or get groceries delivered by truck, or use a taxi, or buy anything imported on a ship. Don't support windfarms that use banks of diesel powered generators as back up for when the wind doesn't blow or indeed any of the thousands of uses of diesel fuel, like home heating, and get rid of solid fuel kitchen ranges that liber's adore cos they're pollution machines as well. The problem with you is you pick up on one single headline but are too lazy to look at the broader picture, like most liberals it too easy to hide behind a soundbite.

What a strange and bizarre point of view, "more people are killed by diesel fumes that by terrorist attack" There are many, many things that kill more people than a terrorist attack. The clue is in the word............"terror" that sets it apart!
