We never know with the press.... I only said that in response to what Lordup said; "( hopefully ) it is proved ill founded ".

As for "and it is in some places"; I was referring to other stories about such problems. in other words even if this story isn't true there are other incidents where the story is true.

This has nothing to do with the press, this is word of mouth.

Does anyone else have any background to this?

In other words this could be a complete fabrication? Let us hope it isn't true then. If it is true then i would presume the authorities will be onto it.

This thread has been up a few days and nobody - apart from Lordup - has said anything constructive or shown any knowledge about this bat riddle (which Iommi admits he only heard second hand).

As for this thread being ruined; it wouldn't have been if Iommi hadn't kept replying to me.... I think the reason he did it was to keep this thread up near the top (or he was bored, or both ).

Sadly yes and I, in part, shared in its downfall, something for which I must apologise to myself and everyone else for. I took great offence to a poster making fun of a situation I am sensitive to. I hope others might see how this thread regrettably got to where it did and why it did. I really do think it is time that this board was moderated.

On topic; I suspect there is a Housing Association involved in this somewhere.

I think you'll find that the fact that bats don't easily find another home is the reason disturbing them is illegal.
And, what natural process is the equivalent of a ball & chain destroying a house in a few hours? Evolution works along natural processes, not man made ones.

I also think it is incumbent on us to prevent development from running roughshod over the environment. If what I have described is true, then this seems like a blatant disregard for animal welfare.

I agree about evolution (or not evoluton), however that is not always the way; sadly.

I'm sorry if this offends Jeff, but your earlier post on the lines of 'another thread ruined' added nothing to the thread, if you had something to say on the bat question you should have just got on and said it, maybe then it would have got back on topic, as it is you are now doing what you sort of accused Iommi and GMR of doing, carrying on the nonsense.
