On a second note, anyone ever used anyone who can machine polish ?

Any of the smaller bodyshops would provide that service I'm sure but you had better be sure your paintwork is up to it. It will be expensive though, to mop a car and then polish you will be looking at least 4 hours labour.

I will keep on until everyone and his uncle knows what a hypocrite, liar, and cheat he is. I do not normally care what people do at work or anywhere else, but for him to come on here and slag off every youngster, council tenant and everybody else in the world it seems to me, it makes me puke.

If you want your car machine polished do not go to a bodyshop, contact a good detailing company... They will do a much better job than most bodyshops who don't even understand the Zenith point.

Are all these 'mates' garage owners, if so they seem to be intent on commercial suicide. If they are employees then I cannot understand why they are able to offer their employers facilities for a fiver including a diagnosis. I sort of think you might be guilding the lily here. (That's apolite way of saying bullsh1t).

Oh shut up.
I have mates who work at garages. All of them can stay late as they all have keys for their various buildings and are allowed to stay late. The fiver would be a little thankyou, enough for my mate to get a beer or a MaccyDs for the 20-30 mins of his time. If you want I can make them charge the £50-£90 p/hour they would regularly charge a regular customer but the point of having mates is you give them money and they give you cheaper prices.

If you think it's bull**** then tell it to someone who cares.

Back in the 80's I had a Golf GTi. To save money, I would buy parts from Vee Wee or Volkspares and fit them myself. On a couple of occasions, I slipped a local garage chap a few quid and used his workshop car-lift on a Saturday for a couple of hours.

- If I was to make a comment on Timbo's arrangements it would be that a fiver is a bit mean these days. £20 would be more like it? rolleyes.gif

Is your life really that empty?
I do have friends who have a machine polisher but I wouldn't let them touch my car with it, and if I wouldn't let them use it on my car it would be hypocritical to recommend it to others.. Besides as it's not "theirs" and it's their boss's, they don't let me borrow it. (I suppose that's where they draw the line). laugh.gif
