I wonder how many others had no mail deliveries on Saturday?

Seem to recall Postal service were a bit more diligent in getting the
mail through in bad weather.

R Mail recently said they were planning to do some Sunday deliveries to catch
up with backlog, but no sign of that either.

I didn't see them either and I was expecting something. I heard that a lot of them didn't work because of the weather. God knows how they managed in the 60s when it was a lot worse than this.... and it went on for weeks and weeks.

Perhaps you didn't have anything to be delivered?

There seems to be little changes going on all the time. I see regularly that the day tablets are placed in the post boxes, so you can't see if the post has gone or not.

Expecting and being out for delivery are two entirely different things. Just because there is the former, it doesn't mean you get the latter.

True, but I did also say that the post office were also quite a few postmen down because of the weather. On top of that talking to people around where I live they didn't get any post either.

I used to go to school in the snow too!

I had to not only go to school - even though the heating wasn't working - but to keep warm we had to do cross country running.

Royal Mail not being particularly informative on issue:

Royal Mail spokesman Tom Prendergast declined to say what delivery routes had been hit locally but added that the weather “has had an impact on Royal Mail, along with many other delivery providers. Royal Mail remains committed to delivering on behalf of its customers and is doing everything possible to deliver letters, cards and parcels on behalf of its customers.”

Yes, me too. I think that my postman is a star. The snow doesn't seem to be able to stop him.
