Is it just me, or does almost every story now just get assigned a library pic?

Just looked at the Greenham Bus Stop story, and whilst it describes a burnt out brickbuild shelter, they have a library pic of a glass/aluminium shelter.

It's a seemingly more and more common occurrence.

Yes, I noticed that Lee, but it's probably down to the need to save money wherever possible rather than laziness. Most local papers for which a charge is made have been finding things tough over the past couple of years, what with falling sales and advertising revenue - some have gone under while others have become freebies. I hope the NWN is safe but who would ever have forseen that the London Evening Standard would become like The Metro?

I have noticed it alot also. The article where the lady died last week involving the lorry - they used a pic of a lorry which was not the lorry in question. The reporters were there taking photos on the hill so they could of used the correct lorry if they wished.

Not only that but there is actually something lying on the floor in front of the lorry! Made me feel quite sick! This picture (I believe) was released before any details were issued, so readers did not know this was not the lorry involved or not.

Don't you mean a Dyson vacuum cleaner?

Hoover is a trade name of, err, Hoover.

I will gratefully accept the pedant award.

Darren, you're correct of course.
Have yourself a cookie.

Either way, tell NWN to stop using lazy library pics, especially incorrect ones.

I have always found if you send a news photo to the NWN that 1) they won't pay for it, and 2) if they do use it and credit it to you, your name may well be mis-spelt. Needless to say, if I get a news photo related to West Berkshire/Newbury, the NWN will never get it.

In the sentence quoted above, I'd have substituted 'Should', with 'There should'. unsure.gif
