QUOTE (newres @ Jun 8 2019, 06:26 PM) We've covered this. This is happening right now in West Berkshire as of about 4-6 weeks. Since April. Just have a look at all the slashed prices on Rightmove. It may not be nationwide and any survey data would predate this. You could just be wrong. Yes. Sales are down. But it's not the crisis you are making it out to be. You actually want a full blown recession. SAD. Oh and don't let facts get in the way? If I was as "certain" about this impending doom I'd sell up, live in a rented property for a year or two and then with all my equity buy something much larger. Why don't you?

Why don't you? Because I’m not interested in upsetting my household to make a few quid. I don’t want a recession at all which is why I voted Remain and opposed to a no deal Brexit.

He's off down the pub moaning about how house prices are falling, but for some reason only in West Berks. Wait till he finds the beers gone flat ~ brexit!

To be fair to him he does argue his case. He doesn't just surround himself with like minded people on Facebook and Twitter, blocking anyone he doesn't agree with.

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Jun 8 2019, 07:50 PM) Why are we not in recession now? Why is our growth greater than Germany and France. Please explain. It’s a cyclical thing. Germany has a much stronger economy than ours but it’s at a different stage in the economic cycle. Do you think we’d have a recession in the event of a no deal Brexit?

Do you think we’d have a recession in the event of a no deal Brexit? I think we could. Yes. But I don't believe if will be a depression, but a short sharp shock whilst the Country gets its sh1t together. I don't worry. When you lose your Mum (cancer) Dad (car crash) and Fiancee (car crash) you can deal with pretty much anything.

Spain floundering, Italy on the ropes, Germany (the economic powerhouse of the EU) bordering on recession, and your wittering on about house prices. In West Berks.

Could be worse. But for what? I actually don’t think it’ll happen now. I think Farage’s party was the final nail on the coffin.

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Jun 8 2019, 09:42 PM) The what is the very answer to your question. Some nebulous notion of sovereignty? I quite liked what David Mellor had to say about the whole thing in the last couple of days. I think a lot of people voted as a protest vote. I have a friend who voted leave in the hope Remain would win but enough would vote leave to bring about change. There’s a strong case to be made that BJ had much the same idea.

That's the problem remainers have. To combat that, all other parties would need to join forces. Corbyn would never allow that.

Boris 'teflon' Johnson is still firm favourite. Spoke to JSC last week and he is not amused😋 Then, there's this, https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/j...new-brexit-voteThe Guardian 😆😆😆

That would mean their destruction with BJ doing a Hindenburg.
