If there was a GE tomorrow both would be destroyed...

If you wish to make such claims, if there were a referendum tomorrow it would be 60:40 to remain.

Pretty convincing statement last night. From a party that's what? Six weeks old? Labour even came second in Islington!

But do you not think that as they are a single issue party that they will have a ceiling in terms of appeal? They have probably reached it because when the GE comes, there will be some that return to the Tories as they shift to the right. I do think any that moved from Labour will stay with them as the most likely outcome will be that Labour will firm up a Remain/confirmatory vote position.

I fully expect the Tories to go for a no deal and Farage will then join them. That would mean a 40 percent share of the vote at a GE. The other parties would be screwed given our voting system.

That would split the Tory party. Don’t forget West Berks is Conservative AND remain. The result of that here would be a Lib Dem MP.

That is your opinion. Mine is different. I do thing the Lib Dems could get in here as we have a pro EU MP that would put any leaver off. Why would Benyon want to leave the gravy train and CAP.

And talking of gravy trains, will all the Brexit MEPs refuse their salaries? That would be the principled thing to do.

Not a fan of his I'm afraid, however I did help campaign for David Rendel.

What were the percentages in West Berks? I’ve not seen them but I presume Greens and Libdems would probably be around 55-65%?

Remind me, what was Brexit and UKIP combined? laugh.gif

Although Brexit were the largest single “party”, Farage has demonstrated that it’s only around 30% that support his sort of Brexit and he’s also ****** up the Tories making Brexit even less likely. Win, win for Remain.

Oh and the other thing Brexit Party have done is forced Labour’s hand over a second referendum. BJ will be in serious trouble now because to avoid a general election he’ll have to allow a second referendum but if he does that, ERG will vote him down. He’s snookered. It’s an impossible position for anyone.
