Nothing getting in or out? I didnt realise we were being placed under siege? Are Juncker and co mining the seas and sending wolf packs into the North Atlantic? Tell me more...😂

If we just walked everything leaving our ports would need to be checked, we’d have no aircraft arrangements, we’d have a huge gulf in our security, we’d have no trade arrangements with non EU countries and so on. If you can’t see the impact of that then you aren’t very bright. I’m assuming however that you’re simply fooling about. Fortunately idiots on Facebook and other social media outlets aren’t in control.

Have we not had 2 years to sort out the above? It is the procrastination that is the problem not the result.

The delay is caused by one group of 70 nationalist MPs end the nutters in the DUP. Labour and Lib Dems can’t block it. I know you’re implying that it’s a Remain Parliament blocking it.

The nationalist MPs that are following the manifestos they were elected on? Those MPs? Not the ones ignoring the referendum result, the manifestos they were elected on and in many cases the constituents they represent. A lot of them will be out of a job after the next GE.

You miss the point, once you say you're walking they would have moved heaven and **** to get a deal, it's simply not in the EU's interest to let us go no deal. Dicking about with 'will we, won't we' simply shows we're weak and indecisive. If you go to buy a car you don't make your first offer above the advertised price, negotiation 101. It's been a mad scramble to score political points rather than enact the will of the electorate.

Had I thought that then that is what I would have said. Remain is not an option because the referendum annulled that position. If you think we should tear up that piece of legislation because it doesn't fit in with your idealistic views then I respect your opinion but don't encourage the use of political dogma to achieve your means.

As far as my diminishing memory serves me the question was "Do you think the UK should remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union"? Remain / Leave was the choice.
Nowhere did it say anything about formulating a deal, favourable or otherwise.
Anyone who was influenced by the tripe spouted by the likes of Johnson, Osborne et al are deserving of chaos.

Exactly!

If you believed that the referendum was anything but an opinion poll, or if you thought it would be taken seriously then you should remember that!

If I go to buy a car and I make an offer that's not accepted I just drive home in my old one. I stay where I was in terms of car ownership. If I walk away from Brussels with no deal the sky falls in. We're ****** before we start. Yes, they lose too, but not on anything like the same scale.

Also.. are you for the "French" police way of dealing with protesters?

And Macron is talking about measures to stop the protests after last weekends fiasco.

I drove down to Italy the other week on a Saturday. The protests in general are good natured where they still exist. I saw two on roundabouts of the "honk if you support" variety. They've obviously been somewhat hijacked somewhat in Paris, but I really don't get why it's been jumped on by the right wing in this country for some odd reason and I'm not sure that we'd expect protests in London to have major news coverage in France.

It's like any protest really, the initial objective was quickly reached and while some diehards are still determined to make a noise (they keep shutting the viaduct at millau for example) the bulk of the movement has largely been taken over by the thugs out for a fight brigade that always pop up. I have a great deal of sympathy with the original objective, too much of what comes from the heads of governments is for the benefit of the urban elite with little or no concern for more rural communities.

So not so much up the creek without a paddle as in the middle of the english channel without even a b****y boat. Even the late Harry Houdini would scratch his head as how to get out of this one.
Those who said we would never leave please take a bow. cool.gif

And, quelle surprise on Thursday it will be announced that the EU have graciously allowed us a 21 month extension to A50. In order for us to have a second **** shower (sorry meant referendum). And so it goes on, and on, and on. Deep joy.

This doesn't sound very 'good natured' to me though.

I can’t imagine a Tory being pleased at that news. Corbyn has been brilliant for the Conservative party.
