QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Feb 16 2018, 10:39 PM) Anyone who understandably is against animal cruelty needs to be consistent in said view. You cannot "cherry pick" on an issue like this. The lack of criticism and turning a blind eye won't do. It just lets them down and makes a mockery of any criticism of rich white men chasing foxes in a ridiculous age old practice. A bit like Je Suis Churlish, for example, at least the humped back Tories don’t pretend to be against cruelty whether animal, human or other; ‘cause they’re not.

Why do the Lavour party have a picture of a banned practice by law (hunting with hounds) whilst turning a blind eye to legal halal. Why? Votes. Thats why. Not many Corbynites in the Shires. Plenty which would change from Labour if they made halal and kosher a banned practice as a policy. Its hypocritical.

Politicians are such a duplicitous bunch that one has to question the mentality of anyone who gives them any credence. The time has now arrived that ALL practices that involve animals must come under one code. This will undoubtedly offend those who "enjoy" such dubious pleasures as hunting/shooting/fishing etc as well as the meat industry and the pet trade, but the time has come. Even horse/dog racing must come under scrutiny, and that will flutter a few feathers.

Glad to see Oscar Wilde is still alive and well! Its also worth noting that plenty of lefty types hunt n shoot. Conveniently forgotten when it suits, suits you sir, suits you. And where is the 'gentle' art of angling most ardently pursued, by the working class naturally. Hypocrisy raw and simple. Nice edit by the way!

Nice edit by the way! I know, hypocrisy has no party preference; however, recently a leader of a party was speaking quite affectionately about hunting with hounds, bless her. But you stumble on a good point: perhaps we shouldn’t single out any particular act of violence until we are prepared to condemn all acts; if we are to be concerned about hypocrisy.

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Feb 17 2018, 11:18 AM) Worth you writing in then, I have a couple of times and got as expected, a bland response. However, the more mail, particularly bespoke reasonably polite letters, the more change is possible. We know the Tory position, but again worth letting Richard Benyon know about the strength of feeling.

QUOTE (je suis Charlie @ Feb 18 2018, 12:07 AM) Letter sent, response received. Also added name to numerous online petitions. What's AC done I wonder? I don’t eat force fed bird livers. I don't go hunting and I try to live modestly, including reducing meat and dairy intake.

So you write letters ... wow; that’ll learn ‘em. No, I have done something, unlike you, I am changing my diet, which is the most effective protest one can make. And if Labour beat the liars in Downing Street, we will find it easier to avoid non-stunned meat. Market forces, ennit?

Market forces, ennit? Wow! Changed your diet! Wow, bet they're quaking in their shoes! Shockwaves running throughout parliament! Andy Call has changed his diet ! It's all over! And labour won't even acknowledge the problem, merely increase the problem by encouraging more immigration from Islam nations.

What exactly are blue rinsers doing about it? *the sound of tumble weed* Notwithstanding non-stunned meat is a bigger problem in the Jewish community, but the Blue Rinse Racists are more worried about other shades.
