Er, he is guilty and has been condemned - by all sides - so I don’t know what the swivle eyeds are on about.

"YOU SHOULD STAY! Jeremy Corbyn tried to persuade shamed Labour MP Jared O’Mara NOT to resign from the Commons equalities committee
At a private meeting of Labour MPs earlier this week the Labour leader said he shouldn’t have been forced to stand down from the influential committee - despite being exposed for homophobic and racist comments"

What were the racist and homophobic comments? The ones I saw were a bit rude and sexist but nothing particularly shameful.

His local rag says "On Monday Mr O'Mara resigned from his position on the Commons Women and Equalities Committee in a row over homophobic and sexist online comments he admitted he posted more than a decade ago."

Why would he admit to something he hadn't done?

This is developing into a 21c issue: hard words being used in soft situations.

To me homophobia and misogyny mean hate, not just impolite.

Further scientific evidence. That's a quote from a newspaper.

However your interpretation was that it was an admission. Hence my quip about further scientific evidence of the bigoted being stupid. tongue.gif

"A source close to Labour’s national executive committee said O’Mara’s selection in Sheffield had been backed by the local Momentum group, after the 2015 candidate Oliver Coppard did not stand again.

Tweets from the Momentum Sheffield account from the election campaign call on volunteers to campaign for O’Mara, calling him “the pro-Corbyn candidate”.

Figures!

"She said, however, that O’Mara had later abused her – before he became an MP – when she encountered him while out with friends. Asked what O’Mara said, she replied: “Obviously, some of the things aren’t broadcastable. There were some transphobic slurs in there. He called me an ugly *****.”

Hmm.

"Fresh allegations emerged after a string of offensive comments he made in blog posts made online emerged.
In one he asked Girls Aloud to have an orgy with him, attacked 'fatties' and said it would be funny if Jamie Cullum was 'sodomised with his own piano' in posts exposed yesterday."

Nasty!

"And he told another woman he was chatting with online: 'Don't worry luv, I'll lay on your rack any day.'

Oh you little scamp!

"You can’t blame the Labour Party for letting one of their members, Jared O’Mara, slip through the system and become an MP, even though he made comments online calling gay people “fudgepackers” and women at a club “sexy little slags”.

Go Labour! Be inclusive!

Not scientific, of course, very little is. However, the preponderance of the evidence would tend to swing any rational person not totally mired in his or her lefty defensive position to conclude that sadly these are some of the people labour see fit to field as peoples representatives in parliament.
