Can someone explain to me the specific reasons why Councillor Julian Swift Hook is such a controversial figure in West Berkshire?

I met him once. He has an interesting car so he's OK in my book.

I suppose the biggest issue is about being straight. All sorts of populist wheezes which when analysed seem designed only to keep power, which has lead to going wholly against principles which drove a whistle blower from office.

He's actually a good guy, once you get past the rather bad press he's ok,. Gets my vote.

He's a bungler in an area where it is easy to bungle, but I would not vote for him. He puts office before people, which I know is not uncommon.

Greenham warehouse
Simon Kirby's hush contract
Greenham Common Tower

Are a few things I resent, but I will credit him with coming through with the dewatering of Vickie Park, despite it appearing to me that he was abandoned by those who I think should have supported him better.

Is JSH the individual a controversial figure? The Greenham Parish Council's Tower of Control was the brain-child of JSH and it has attracted some minor criticism for the Council's bungling mismanagement, but there's really no great controversy is there, and the bungling is the Council's collectively, not JSH's personally? Amongst his fellow politicos, both Conservative and Lib Dem, I'm not aware that he's anything but a solidly mainstream establishment chap, and I doubt very much if the public at large know who he is.

Do you know any different?

Not really sure it would be fair of me to say. But it was from Europe, saloon, is quite rare, but not pretentious. I've only seen a few of them around.

Get used to it, if the Trot's get in that's all anyone will be driving in ten years time. If we're lucky. Still, as you're such a loyal comrade to the glorious socialist Revolution you might get a Zil, and your own lane on the motorway to drive it down. Top down socialism.

Or there is the Conservative/LD ideal, that land of the free, the States.

I'm not totally sure sitting in my vest in the trailer just watching endless trashy TV and scrounging a church pot roast once a fortnight is much of an alternative...

We'd have to ask Judge Judy on that one! 😎
