and suprise, surprise Richard Benyon voted in favour of that bill. https://www.facebook.com/yesterdaysshadows/...894611370687185But then he also voted against EVERY bill that would force Landlords to improve safety measures, new building regs etc. So he also has some the ashes of those that died in Grenfell on his BLOOD soaked hands! He is your a typical tory, as long as he is OK, then to **** with everybody else beneath.... |

Well a deal has been reached within the last couple of hours (as I suspected and said it most likely would). The question is just how much damege has this fiasco done to Sky, as just on a customer relations matter this has been bad. What is worse is the way Sky have alienated such a large amount of its subscriber base. That although Sky is the BIGGEST TV provider in the UK, even when that is taken into account Sky still has the largest amount of customer churn of all paid UK TV providers. It would appear that many people have seen Sky in different light and their arrogance has seen many of those customers that can, switching to other companies. http://uk.businessinsider.com/sky-discover...ife-edge-2017-1 |

Many people seem to be missing the real issue at stake here, whilst it is Sky vs Discovery Networks today.
At any point in the future it could be ITV or BBC who Sky decide to try it on with next, I find it interesting how people are seemingly happy to believe the press release that Sky have put out today, when all the evidence of year, on year price increases well EVERY OTHER YEAR they raise the TV subscription charges. I can remember when I signed up to Sky in 1991 and it less than £8 a year, what was even better is back then the consumer had a choice of what satellite receiver they wanted as you bought it and then signed up to Sky.
Anyway the point is this yes, Discovery Networks have done themselves no favours as when the Discovery Channel first started it was a channel worth watching, but Discovery have ruined many of the decent programmes by making more and more into reality style programmes, people watch Discovery to "discover" then can get reality like crap on every other channel.
But again I say this is NOT just about Discovery channel, there is the Eurosport Channels too the cynic in me thinks this may be Sky flexing it muscle more about Eurosport than anything else, as Sky have been there before when they threatened to not allow Sky Sports on CableTV when it was bought by Virgin Media.
If you are a Sky subscriber, you might well think the "discovery channels are not worth it" fine, the TRUTH is Sky over paid for the football rights and vastly overpaid too.
Now if the BBC find themselves in a "price fee battle" with Sky, just remember it will NOT only the channels with "BBC" in the names that go, the BBC own a controlling stake in a company that was called Flextech it might have been renamed....
EDIT/UPDATE: A quick internet search shows that Flextech was split into two companies Flextech was bought by yes BSkyB and is now a subsidiary of BSkyB Flextech owns the Living channels on Sky. The other major and better know channels were all kept together and the company called UKTV, the BBC still hold the controlling stake.
Sadly my old ITC members pocket book is out of date, well out of date as the ITC is now called OFCOM! |

I think that would be a valid question if Clinton had won aswel, as she had upset most of of the close protection officers from the US Secret Service to the extent that may of them refused to be assigned to protect her.
Given that Trump has effectively accused the CIA & FBI of lying, he is already upsetting those senior miliatary officers at the Pentagon with his love in with Putin. I would think he has got a pretty big target on him. But as is the seemingly the way with Trump, I am actually pretty **** surprised he has survived now, if he is alive at the weekend it will be interesting to see if he manages to see out a full term, for some strange reason I don't think he will!
Still Trump, might be like Tony Blair, be teflon coated and proof that you can indeed polish a ****! |

I am now 99.9% certain the f*ckwit who admins the local parking like a tw*t page, is also the same idiot behind the recently renamed "New Newbury & Thatcham page".... It would appear that the said idiot learned nothing from his posting about an ambulance crew a couple of weeks ago. As he has now posted about a police car! BTW: the from "anon" is NOT fooling anybody, either! https://www.facebook.com/TownbookNewburyTha...am/?pnref=story |

I am running Vista 32bit as our main OS, mainly due as that was what came loaded on PC, but Win7 due for release within a couple of weeks so we got sent a Win7 upgrade dvd from HP for free upon release. I set up a couple of extra hard drive partitions and used that Win7 dvd to do a clean install of Win7 then updated it to Win10, had a few problems which meant deleting the partition and then starting over again, then I after the third set of problems with an upgrade to win10, I decided to use the Windows10 media creation tool and download the windows10 ISO from Microsoft which creates a bootable DVD or USB, I then did a clean install of Window10 64bit (I was offered Win10 Pro) when I ran the installation dvd, NOT had any problems with it since. Now got a triple boot system, of Windows Vista (which I prefer), with the option of booting either Windows10 or Ubuntu. I do look at the Microsoft UK facebook page, everyday and although the issue of support is a bit dodgy with MS I was able to rectify an issue I had with product activation. https://www.facebook.com/MicrosoftUK |
