QUOTE (gel @ Apr 13 2019, 12:30 PM) Local WBC Council votes: (Downlands Ward)
I've just received my postal voting forms, and I find it puzzling that just one candidate refuses to show their home address.? That is the Labour Candidate, a Mr Murphy. Previously has shown a Chaddleworth residence. West Berkshire and Newbury Town Councils have a couple of Labour Councillors with no address shown. Perhaps they are too embarrassed to let neighbours know they are standing for councilors? As the Nationals have proven that democracy is now dead is there any point in voting? Of all the candidates standing there is not one that I can vote for so therefore will be spoiling my papers! |

QUOTE (je suis Charlie @ Aug 24 2018, 07:15 PM) https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2...sts-2013-speechIf you vote for this man NOW, you're either. A, Antisemitic. B, Racist. C. Just don't care. Or like myself and a growing number, we feel disenfranchised, we have no one candidate or party we feel represent the ordinary worker or who we want to vote for! |

QUOTE (Turin Machine @ Apr 9 2018, 10:37 AM) Right wing media like the BBC and the Guardian? Oh really? Stop pontificating, all your trying to do is to spam yet another thread. I do believe he is trying to suggest that you try to locate all sources, other than mega rich press barons of course, even if they do not agree with your currently held opinions? QUOTE (blackdog @ Mar 16 2018, 11:51 PM) Do the council make anything from recycling? I would have thought that would be a Veolia perk. I may be incorrect on the Council making money, not sure to be honest I know a neighbour who is a keen gardener buys it. But the point is that all the current kitchen waste etc will now go to landfill which creates tons of methane when slowly rotting in landfill. Unless of course all the present green waste bins are paid for? Can you really expect that to happen? |

QUOTE (SirWilliam @ Mar 14 2018, 04:07 PM) Yet another money making idea thanks to those who can not see further than their nose. Similar to the old train ticket scam using a platform ticket and six of us could travel for a 6d, all we need is one ticket a photocopier and an ebay account. Halcyon days. So those who opt out will get a reduction on the Council Tax bill then as they are paying for the green bin collection at the present time? |

QUOTE (je suis Charlie @ Feb 7 2018, 09:15 PM) That's the idea, glad we're finally on the same wavelength. I take it we can count on your presence at next month's meeting of the bloated capitalists club? And what shall I tell the menial on the gate you'll need a space in the courtyard for? Your jet, your limo or might you be turning up in your yacht? Much appreciate the kind invite but of course you should be aware that us truly wealthy top elites are semi recluse and very rarely socialise except with a very few selected individuals. There is also the delicate balance of not being seen as too ostentatious that is why you may perchance see me around the local lanes riding my hybrid bicycle. I do of course have to be kept within sight of my security detail. |

QUOTE (je suis Charlie @ Feb 7 2018, 04:30 PM) Good for you, I can't get a jet to land in my back garden, the Heli comes in quite nicely though. So much nicer door to door. Yes of course helicopter for local national journeys. Probably do have enough space on the estate for landing the jet but it would probably be too much trouble to sort out the planning permission. And of course being environmentally aware I do try to keep flights to the minimum. Time for us superpower CEO's is very important and I cannot risk being held up in the dire traffic snarl ups that is our road infrastructure at present even though the Bristol is quite comfortable to travel in. |
